First Assembly of God was blessed to host the "More Than Words" conference. If one's definition of a successful conference includes lives being changed, people being equipped to make an impact, and Biblical worldviews established, then this was a successful conference. I watched the audience as Tim Wilkins discussed the issue of same-sex attractions from a thoroughly evangelical perspective, and I witnessed many people having "a-ha!" moments.

I must confess that, even as a pastor, I had unbiblical presuppositions shattered. One of those presuppositions I possessed dealt with the idea that my goal in ministering to those with same-sex attractions should be to help them change their desires. The fundamental premise behind this conference, though, was that one must walk these individuals to Jesus. HE is the goal! Far from being a "10 steps to ... " or "How to ... " kind of conference, the consistent theme of this event was "Help them meet Jesus."

The humor, the resources, the testimonies, the built-in fellowship all combined to create an unforgettable event. I am convinced this conference will prove to be a springboard into a greater level of understanding and ministry for my church and me.

"Maleness and femaleness was God’s idea. Cross Ministry seeks to help struggling men and women find God’s perspective on human sexuality.”

"For several years I followed the work of Tim Wilkins as Executive Director of Cross Ministry; I met Tim and his lovely wife Lisa a few years ago and we quickly became friends. Since that time, I have witnessed his passion for proclaiming the freedom from homosexuality he has found in the person and power of Jesus Christ!
"Our great God liberates men and women from homosexuality, and it is wonderfully refreshing to see that liberation in someone like Tim who so openly 'tells what great things the Lord has done' for him!
"His commitment to Christ and His Word is evident in his speaking, teaching and writing. Tim maintains an unwavering belief that homosexuality is sin; yet, he also affirms the forgiveness of God toward the repentant. He sees it as our biblical responsibility to not only talk men and women out of such lifestyles, but to walk them out as well. Tim advocates the need to turn down the heat on the issue and turn up the light. He exemplifies that himself in his expanding speaking schedule. I am happy to commend Tim and Cross Ministry to you!"

Dr. A. William (Bill) Merrell
Senior Advisor to the Executive Committee
Former Editor SBC Life

"I believe Tim is in a unique position to speak to the relevant issues because it is a journey he has completed. The truth he tells is about God’s power to change hearts and lives through faith in Christ and the application of His grace. I support Cross Ministry both because of the truth it proclaims and because of the lives of those who proclaim it."

Dr. Joseph Verga, Executive Director

"I would like to personally recommend Rev. Tim Wilkins. His work with Cross Ministry has been a blessing to myself and others throughout the United States. He is an articulate speaker who shares from his heart and vast life experience.
Rev. Wilkins's presentations are very creative and biblically sound. Furthermore, his writings are very inspirational. They have helped myself and the many I have counseled and taught. God has graced him with the ability to communicate very clearly and compassionately.
I had the pleasure of having Tim speak at our church and lead a conference in our community. Tim is a man God has used to share a message of hope and change through Jesus Christ. Tim combines humor, Scripture and research in addressing the issues. Cross Ministry...will boldly and humbly lead people to minister to those whom Christ can set free. I highly recommend them to you.
